Good News for Indian Mobile Users
If you are a Mobile User is India then February month brings you lot of good news. Firstly the government companies BSNL took initiative to launch 3G on 22nd February in South India (Chennai). As MTNL had already launched 3G in name of ‘Jadoo’ in Delhi last year. BSNL has aggressive plan to invest 27,000 Million rupees for Expansion of its telecom network and to cover more than 700 cities with 3G service.
In First Phase BSNL is launching 3G in Jammu, Shimla, Jalandhar, Agra, Dehradun, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Haldia and Durgapur. BSNL has also tied up with various mobile companies i.e Nokia, Sony and Samsung for building ecomomical handset
3G is basically a third generation telecom standards enable network operators to offer users a wider range of more advanced services such as Live TV, Video Conferencing, movie downloads, high speed data download on mobile with high voice clarity
Secondly Government granted the license for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) which enables mobile user to change their network operator without changing their cellphone number. On 5th March Communications and Information Technology Minister Mr A. Raja will disclose the companies those are granted for MNP. MNP will be implemented in all metro and 'A' Category service areas within six months of the award of the licence, and in rest of India within one year.
